WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Everyone experiences stress, but sometimes we don’t handle it well. This workshop will help people to identify the areas of their life where stress is occurring, the impact it has on health, productivity, family, and the work environment. Some stress can be a motivator to achieve results and become creative, but too much can take a toll on your health, relationships, and productivity. Learn to recognize the signs, understand the consequences of stress, and establish strategies that can help to decrease stress levels. Healthy people are happy people and they make great employees!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Anyone who wishes to have better control in their life and to understand how to embrace stress as a friend and not to let it become a foe.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:

  • Identify the causes of stress
  • Acknowledge how you may be contributing to your own stress levels

  • Differentiate between stress as a motivator and one that is causing concern

Individual Perspective

  • Complete a personal, confidential questionnaire relating to your stress levels
  • Explore your own thought processes and how you may be contributing to your stress
  • Examine ways to reframe thoughts and actions to a positive perspective

Stress in the Environment

  • Explore the things/situations that contribute to a stressful environment
  • Learn how to identify the signs that stress is present in yourself and others
  • Understand the consequences that can occur and if they are good or bad

Stress as a Motivator

  • Identify how stress can help to motivate people and deliver great results
  • Know when you have reached the limit and are moving to harmful stress
  • Tap into the positives to help others deal with situations too

Impact your Future Thoughts and Behaviours

  • Identify your normal reactions to situations and people around you
  • Understand how communication can help to decrease stress levels
  • Explore the people in your circle who can help you

Develop your Toolkit!

  • Create a list of techniques that can help decrease stress levels
  • Develop coping strategies that will best work for you
  • Create a personal action plan to make stress a true friend!

METHODS TO BE USED

A variety of methods will help people to explore their world and the stress that will happen.

Participants will complete an individual questionnaire; large and small group activities will be utilized; individual exercises and time to reflect on personal situations and responses will be built into the day; case studies and various scenarios will be examined; and each person will develop an action place designed to help them deal with stress in the future and to build their confidence and be comfortable dealing with a variety  of situations and people.
