The Ontario Job Grant could cover up to 83% of your company’s direct training costs!

The Ontario Job Grant helps Ontario employers reduce the cost of employee training and workforce development.

Eligible employers may receive funding for instructor-led training delivered by an approved third-party training provider, including onsite, virtual, and hybrid corporate training programs offered by Ontario Training Network.

Employers with fewer than 100 employees may qualify for funding covering up to 5/6ths of eligible training costs. Employers with 100 or more employees may also qualify, with funding covering up to 50% of eligible training costs.

The Ontario Job Grant replaced the former Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) program.

What is the Ontario Job Grant program (OJG)?

The Ontario Job Grant is a government funding program that supports employee training, upskilling, reskilling, and workforce development for Ontario employers.

Employers choose the training that best supports their organization while working with an eligible third-party training provider.

Training may include leadership development, business skills training, software and technology training, communication training, professional development, and customized corporate training programs.

Eligible employers may receive:

  • Up to $10,000 per employee
  • Up to $15,000 per trainee for small employers hiring previously unemployed individuals
  • Up to 83% government funding for employers with fewer than 100 employees

Employers with:

  • 100+ employees must contribute at least 50% of eligible training costs
  • Fewer than 100 employees must contribute at least one-sixth of eligible training costs

Eligible applicants include:

  • Private-sector employers in Ontario
  • Non-profit organizations in Ontario
  • Employers operating in Ontario for at least one year

Training must:

  • Be delivered in Ontario
  • Be provided by an eligible third-party training provider
  • Support Ontario-based jobs
  • Be completed within 52 weeks

The Ontario Job Grant may support a wide range of instructor-led employee training and workforce development programs delivered by eligible third-party training providers.

Eligible training may include:

  • Leadership and management training
  • Business and professional skills training
  • Communication and customer service training
  • AI and technology training
  • Microsoft Office and software training
  • Project management training
  • HR and workplace training
  • Sales and service training
  • Customized corporate training programs
  • Professional development and upskilling programs

Ontario Training Network offers on-site, virtual, and hybrid instructor-led training programs for organizations across Ontario.

Training eligibility is determined by Ontario Job Grant program requirements and employer workforce development needs.

Ontario employers may apply for Ontario Job Grant funding for existing employees and eligible new hires. Trainees must generally be Ontario residents, legally authorized to work in Canada, and employed by the applicant employer. Full-time and part-time employees may qualify.

Ontario Training Network provides instructor-led corporate training that may qualify for Ontario Job Grant funding when the training meets program requirements.

We are happy to assist you in working with the OJG program. However, you must make the application yourself.

Yes. Employers may apply for Ontario Job Grant funding more than once if they continue to meet eligibility requirements.

Yes. The Ontario Job Grant supports training for existing employees as well as eligible new hires.

No. Applications must be submitted by an eligible employer. Individuals cannot apply directly for funding.

Yes. Training funded through the Ontario Job Grant must be delivered in Ontario and support Ontario-based jobs.

Yes. The Ontario Job Grant (OJG) replaced the former Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG). Employers searching for Canada-Ontario Job Grant information should now refer to the Ontario Job Grant program.

Applications are currently being accepted for training involving up to 25 participants per application.

Employers apply directly through the Ontario Job Grant application process provided by the Government of Ontario.
