Words and phrases change over time. What was refreshing 50 years ago may no longer be appropriate for readers of today’s letters and emails. When writing business letters and emails, try to avoid clichés. Clichés are words that have been so overused that they no longer register with readers. Our readers nowadays are busy and overworked.  Your writing with words and phrases taught in business schools in the 1920s will not impress them.
