Stay calm, connected, and professional in every customer interaction

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Emotional Intelligence for Frontline Staff helps employees understand and manage the emotional demands of public-facing work. Participants will learn how their own stress and triggers affect communication, how to recognize the emotions and unmet needs driving customer behaviour, and how to regulate their reactions in the moment so difficult interactions stay calm, respectful, and solution-focused. Through reflection exercises and group practice, this course builds the self awareness and practical skills frontline staff need to protect their own composure while strengthening trust with the people they serve.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

  • Frontline customer service and reception staff
  • Call centre and support representatives
  • Complaints and enforcement staff
  • Public-facing administrative employees
  • Retail, hospitality, and service-counter staff
  • Supervisors and team leads overseeing frontline teams

PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN:

  • Explain the role of emotional intelligence in creating positive customer experiences and maintaining professionalism
  • Recognize how personal emotions, stress, and triggers influence communication, decision making, and behaviour under pressure
  • Identify the emotions and unmet needs that drive customer behaviour, and respond with empathy while maintaining boundaries
  • Apply practical techniques to regulate emotions, reduce escalation, and stay calm during difficult interactions
  • Demonstrate emotionally intelligent communication skills that build trust and resolve conflict more effectively
